WurmDewValley is a Wurm Unlimited server mod that adds a homestead shipping system inspired by Stardew Valley. It gives players a way to ship goods through special shipping bins, track what they have shipped, and receive payment through a structured settlement system.

Overview

At its core, WurmDewValley adds a craftable shipping bin that players can use to turn physical goods into virtual shipments. Players place approved items into the bin and use the Ship Items action, which records those items in the shipping ledger instead of storing them as mass child-item contents. Settlement then runs at dawn, or by supervised admin trigger, and applies gross value, tax, and net payout. The net value is deposited into the player’s bank account, while tax is routed to kingdom coffers.

The mod supports both personal and shared shipping workflows. A bin can be claimed as a personal bin for owner-only use, or as a shared deed bin for deed-member use with a single configured payout target.

Main Features

WurmDewValley includes personal and shared deed shipping-bin ownership modes, a virtual shipment ledger, static whitelist-based item control, and server-authoritative pricing. It also includes idempotent settlement persistence, curated shipping categories for crops, fish, ranch goods, forage goods, and artisan goods, plus journal, collection, and contribution visibility systems.

The mod also includes a conservative static demand bonus layer. This is a flavor system applied during shipping-bin settlement and is meant to add a little variety without turning the economy into something unstable or unpredictable.

How Shipping Works

Players place eligible goods into a shipping bin and use Ship Items to send them into the shipping ledger. Once recorded, those items are handled by the system as shipments rather than large piles of stored child items. At settlement time, the mod calculates the shipment’s value, applies tax, and deposits the final payout into the appropriate bank account.

Because the system uses a curated catalog and a whitelist-based approach, item eligibility and pricing stay controlled by the server instead of being left open-ended.

Bin Types

Personal Bins

Personal bins are owner-only shipping bins. These are meant for individual player use and keep the shipping flow tied directly to that player.

Shared Deed Bins

Shared deed bins allow deed members to use the same shipping bin, with one configured payout target. This makes them useful for villages, shared farms, co-op setups, or group production areas.

Shipping Journal

WurmDewValley includes a Shipping Journal system for viewing history and progression. The mod supports journal history, collections and milestones, and bound journal items with live access checks. Players can use journal and history views to track bin-specific activity and contribution visibility over time.

The journal system is one of the bigger parts of the mod. It is not just a simple log. It ties together shipping history, progression access, and milestone-style tracking in a way that gives players a stronger sense of long-term participation.

Collections and Milestones

The mod includes collections and milestones as part of its broader progression and visibility systems. These work alongside the Shipping Journal and help track what has been shipped, what has been contributed, and how players or groups are progressing through the shipping system over time.

Pricing and Catalog Design

WurmDewValley uses static, server-authoritative prices rather than dynamic player-controlled market pricing. It is built around a curated catalogue of crops, fish, ranch goods, forage goods, and artisan goods, including wines and spirits, with conservative convenience pricing. This gives the server strong control over what can be sold and what it is worth. This system is not meant to undercut players’ market prices, but to offer a quick and easy sales method.

Design Approach

WurmDewValley is built with a controlled, conservative design philosophy. It uses whitelist-driven item handling, static pricing, persistent settlement state, and structured visibility systems instead of loose or highly dynamic market behavior. The result is a shipping system that feels flavorful and useful while remaining predictable and manageable for server administration.
